Two girls went to a cafe and ordered 5 desserts to split between the two of them.
On the first day of 2024, I had dinner plans with my cousins who picked me up so we can just carpool together to the restaurant. And of course, in a true Jakarta fashion, we were greeted with heavy traffic as soon we hit the main road. What use to be a 5-minute drive to the highway turned into an hour long drive because of the holiday traffic. Everybody seemed to want to spend their first day at Golf Island or PIK 2 and well, can’t really blame them since there are a bunch of places to visit around those two areas.
One and a half hour later, we finally arrived at One Satrio where the restaurant we want to go to is located. This was actually my first time at One Satrio and I have to say the area is pretty nice. It’s a complex with outdoor space, playground, cafes and restaurants. Makes a pretty nice hangout spot.
The restaurant that we went to was Barcelona Dining & Bar, a Spanish restaurant that just opened last September. (See my review and more photos of the place here.)
One of my other cousin came and joined us a little later that evening right after we’re done with our dinner. He hasn’t eaten yet so we decided to go to another restaurant so he can have his dinner. And that’s how we ended up at The Commissary, an Asian fusion bistro a couple of doors over from Barcelona. I ordered the Honey Yuzu Soda, which was pretty nice, refreshing and not too sweet. And my cousin ordered their Thai Crispy Pork Belly with Chinese broccoli over rice and fried egg, which he said was not bad.
We stayed and talked until it was late enough for us to called it a night because all of my cousins have work the next day. And that’s day 1 of 2024.
